Birdboy

Little Dinki begins a new day on the way to school with her much loved father. But a terrible industrial accident is going to change life forever on the island where they live. Now Dinki's fate may hang on the wings of his eccentric friend Birdboy, an introverted bird-boy who hides in the forest abandoned to his fantasies.

Producer, director and scriptwriter of the feature film Psiconautas, los Niños Olvidados, Goya Award for Best Animated Film 2017, winner of 18 international awards, shortlisted for the Oscars and nominated for Best European Animated Film; and also the feature film La crisis carnívora.

Screenwriter of the acclaimed feature film The Platform by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia.

Producer, director and scriptwriter of the short film Birdboy, Goya award for best animated short film 2012, awarded with more than 40 awards at national and international festivals and shortlisted for the Oscars. He was also the producer and co-writer of the short film Sangre de unicornio.

Alberto Vázquez

1980, A Coruña, Galicia. Animation director, illustrator and cartoonist. His books and comics have been published in countries like Spain, France, Italy, Brazil and Korea and his illustrations have been published in magazines and newspapers around the world.

He has written and directed short animation as Birdboy, Unicorn blood or Decorado based in his comics.

Then he did his first featured film Psiconautas, whose is director, scriptwriter, art director and based on the graphic novel of the same name by the own Vázquez. His works have won three times the Goya Awards (best animation film, for Psiconautas, in 2017, and best animation short film twice, for Birdboy, in 2012, and Decorado, in 2017).

He has won over 100 awards in international events such as the Festival of Annecy, Platino Awards, Chicago, Foyle, Silver Meliés or Expotoon. His works have been exhibited in prestigious festivals worldwide as Cannes, EFA Awards, Toronto, Annecy, Clermont-Ferrand, Animafest Zagreb or Slamdance.
