Festival de Cine de Lanzarote

The Lanzarote International Film Festival (FICL) is organized by the Culture area of ​​the Cabildo de Lanzarote and Fisme Producciones.

Its international short film competition is aimed at filmmakers who have produced a short fiction, animation, or documentary genre. This year, the Festival establishes five competition categories: Canarian Shorts, National Fiction Shorts, International Fiction Shorts, Animation Shorts, and Documentary Shorts.

  • All producers or filmmakers who have the rights to the works they present may participate. 
  • The works will have a maximum duration of:
  1. National Short Fiction Section: 25 minutes, including credits.
  2. International Short Fiction Section: 25 minutes, including credits.
  3. Animation Short Section: 25 minutes, including credits.
  4. Section Short Documentaries: 30 minutes, including credits.
  5. Section Short Canaries: 25 minutes, including credits

The winning short film in each of the sections will receive a prize of € 1500. Likewise, each winner will receive an award that will be presented at the Festival’s Closing Gala.

* The short films that win the Best National Fiction Short Award and the Best Documentary Short Award at the Lanzarote International Film Festival will have the possibility of registering for the relevant edition of the Goya Awards of the Spanish Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences in the corresponding category, as long as they comply with the requirements established in its bases.
