Ibértigo – Muestra de cine iberoamericano
In 2003, the Vertigo Film Association presented the first edition of Ibértigo: Ibero-American Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Its success meant that, since then, the Canarian public has accompanied each edition of Ibértigo with involvement and complicity, thus endorsing the rigor with which this Show is designed. To this day, the validity of the objectives that led to its birth is very significant: the historical link between the Canary Islands and America; the creative and avant-garde potential of Ibero-American cinema; the presence in that cinema of the increasingly demanded social content and, finally, the obstacles that Ibero-American cinema must overcome in order to circulate through the usual distribution and exhibition channels.
