Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote
The Lanzarote Film Festival is a project whose objective is to promote, disseminate and exhibit independent cinema.
Organized by an independent cultural association, the Tenique Cinema Association, it is a cultural project that takes place at the end of each year in different municipalities on the island of Lanzarote. It was born in 2011 and, under the direction of two renowned professionals from the world of cinema —Javier Tolentino and Víctor Moreno—, it has been consolidating itself as a reference event in national and international independent cinema. In 2018 the Lanzarote Film Festival embarked on a new stage with Javier Fuentes Feo as director.
During its first eight years of existence, internationally awarded filmmakers have participated in the Show. Víctor Erice, Basilio Martín Patino, Rita Acevedo, Federica di Giacomo, Oliver Laxe, Yolande Zauberman, Nelson Carlo de los Santos, Thomas Mauch, Jörg Schmidt-Reitwein, Donal Foreman and many others presented their films at the Lanzarote Film Festival, they gave courses and had interesting discussions on contemporary cinema.
Crossroads section: Canarian filmmakers, which may be attended by fiction and non-fiction short films produced and / or filmed in the Canary Islands or directed by filmmakers born or resident in the Canary Islands. A short film will be considered a film whose duration is less than 30 minutes.
Specific participation requirements of the Official Feature Films Section:
It is a competitive category to which fiction and non-fiction feature films from any country or nationality may participate.
For the purposes of this call, a feature film will be considered one whose duration is equal to or greater than 40 min.
